- The government endorsed the use of Aceh GAM flag became the flag of
Aceh Province through Qanun No. 3 of 2013 on the flag and emblem of
Aceh. Now, the flag fluttering in every government agency in the entire province."Legally,

Edrian, in accordance with the Memorandum Of Understanding Between The
Government Of The Republic Of Indonesia And The Free Aceh Movement (MoU)
in article 1.1. Law on the Governing of Aceh and 1.1.5. Aceh has the right to use the symbols of the region including the flag, emblem and hymn. Further in accordance with Law no. 11 Year 2006 on the Governing of Aceh, which is derived from the Helsinki MoU, in Article 246, namely:(1)
Red and White Flag is the national flag of the Republic of Indonesia
based on the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Year 1945.(2)
In addition to Red and White Flag as referred to in paragraph (1), the
Government of Aceh to determine and set the flag as a symbol of the Aceh
region reflects privilege and specificity.(3)
Flag as a symbol of the Aceh area as referred to in paragraph (2) is
not a symbol of sovereignty and not be treated as the flag of
sovereignty in Aceh.(4)
Further provisions on the form of the flag as a symbol referred to in
paragraph arranged in Aceh Qanun guided by laws and regulations."Both
the legal foundation that became the basis for the legality of the
Government of Aceh to establish Aceh Qanun on Flag and Coat Aceh
provincial parliament through a plenary session on Friday (22/3) night,"

Edrian, from the perspective of the formation of legislation that, if

consequences of the Qanun has legal validity.Furthermore
